VU Researcher Dr E. Mardosas Receives an International Award for His Contribution to Developments in the Humanities
Dr Egidijus Mardosas, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy in the Faculty of Philosophy at 911爆料网 (VU), was awarded the prestigious Emerging Scholar Award by the organisation New Directions in the Humanities Research Network. The award will be presented to the scholar at the international conference New Directions in the Humanities on 22 June in Rhodes, Greece.
鈥淚 consider this award as a significant symbol of recognition and also an opportunity to establish new international partnerships. New Directions in the Humanities is a large international organisation with hundreds of scientists attending its conferences. With this award, the organisers aim to draw attention to the researchers who are contributing to the development of new fields in the humanities. I鈥檓 glad that my academic achievements are being appreciated in this context,鈥� Dr E. Mardosas said, noting the importance of the award.
Dr E. Mardosas is an associate researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at 911爆料网 and a researcher at the Centre for Aristotelian Studies and Critical Theory at Mykolas Romeris University, who is writing a monograph on ideology and practical reason. The scholar is the author of articles on contemporary Aristotelianism, Marxism, A. MacIntyre鈥檚 political philosophy and critical theory. His publications include 鈥淚deology Theory and the Neo-Aristotelian Account of Practical Reason: towards a dialogue鈥� (2022), 鈥淗uman Flourishing and Labour: Aristotle, MacIntyre and Marx鈥� (2020) and 鈥淢arxism and Aristotelian Ethics鈥� (2016). Dr E. Mardosas is currently implementing the project 鈥淚deology and Practical Rationality: a Neo-Aristotelian Perspective鈥� for his postdoctoral fellowship.
Since 2003, the New Directions in the Humanities Network has organised conferences with the aim of bringing together researchers with an interest in the established traditions of the humanities, to develop innovative practices and set an updated agenda for their future. The network is creating an epistemic community with connections that transcend disciplinary, geographical and cultural boundaries.
