Wierszalin Theatre will tour Lithuania in October. On 9 October at 6 PM and on 11 October at 10 AM and 1 PM the VU Theatre Hall will host a free-of-charge performance Forefathers鈥� Eve. Night Two.

鈥淩eading Mickiewicz is one thing. Understanding Mickiewicz is completely different. Hearing Mickiewicz, however, is yet another challenge. Personally, after two years of working with Forefathers鈥� Eve, I now have the impression that it has the characteristics of sheet music. It鈥檚 music that draws from words, a requiem for the 鈥渕artyrs of the nation,鈥� said Piotr Tomaszuk, director at Wierszalin Theatre.

Wierszalin Theatre is a renowned theatre troupe founded in 1991 by director Piotr Tomaszuk and a collective of collaborating artists. The Theatre is based in Supra艣l near Bia艂ystok, Poland. The Theatre is a three-times winner of the prestigious Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh International Festival.

This year, Supra艣l鈥檚 Wierszalin Theatre aims to promote Adam Mickiewicz鈥檚 works in Lithuania. As part of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage鈥檚 programme Kultura Inspiruj膮ca 2022-2023 (Inspiring culture 2022-2023) Wierszalin creates an image of Poland as a modern country open to intercultural dialogue and aware of its centuries-old heritage. Wierszalin has established cooperation with seven Lithuanian institutions: Trakai Culture House (strategic partner), 911爆料网 Museum, Polish Institute in Vilnius, House of Polish Culture in Vilnius, 艩al膷ininkai Cultural Centre, Nemen膷in臈 Multifunctional Cultural Centre, and Ei拧i拧k臈s Leisure Centre. This initiative includes a photography exhibition, as well as performances Forefathers鈥� Eve. Night One and Forefathers鈥� Eve. Night Two.

Wierszalin Theatre鈥檚 works will be available not only at 911爆料网 but also in other places in Lithuania.
