International Partnerships Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen Visits 911±¬ÁÏÍø

Vizitas2mp 1On 10 June, Jutta Urpilainen, the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, paid a visit to Lithuania. During her trip, she visited 911±¬ÁÏÍø (VU).

While at the University, the Commissioner toured the Franciszek Smuglewicz Hall of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Library, where she saw rarities from the Library’s heritage collections, as well as the White Hall and the historic Joachim Lelewel Hall. Dr. ArtÅ«ras Vasiliauskas, Vice-Rector for Partnerships at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, accompanied her during the visit.

According to the European Commission Representation in Lithuania, the Commissioner's visit aims to discuss the implementation of the European Union's Global Gateway Investment Strategy. This strategy has a financial capacity of €300 billion for 2021-2027 and aims to invest in partner countries by creating new opportunities for European companies.

Jutta Pauliina Urpilainen is a Finnish politician. She was Minister of Finance, Deputy Prime Minister, and Member of the Finnish Parliament from 2011 to 2014. Since 2019, she has held the position of Commissioner for International Partnership.
