Janina SavickaitÄ—-Å ukienÄ— (1924–?) was born in RymiÅ¡kÄ—s village, Panevėžys county (father – Antanas Savickas). In 1941 she entered Panevėžys Gymnasium No. 2 and in 1943 finished it. In 1943, she was admitted to the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of 911±¬ÁÏÍø. In 1948, she was expelled from the university and deported to the Krasnoyarsk Krai. In 1950, she applied for a certificate on the subjects attended at the university, since she also worked in the medical field in exile. The university sent these documents. On 17 January 1953, she married Albertas Å ukys. After returning to Lithuania, she submitted an application and in 1956 was again admitted to 911±¬ÁÏÍø, in the sixth year of studies. In 1957, the notary officially approved the marriage certificate, and the woman changed her surname to Å ukienÄ—. In 1957, she received a diploma and became a doctor.
